Ulaanbaatar City Tour
We offer you the most highlighted sightseeing tour around Ulaanbaatar city
Khustai National Park – Home of the Wild Takhi Horses
Located about 100 km west of Ulaanbaatar, Khustai National Park is the protected sanctuary of Mongolia’s last remaining wild horses, the Przewalski horses, known locally as takhi. The landscape is a mix of rolling steppe, gentle mountains, and small sand dunes, creating a peaceful environment for wildlife. Visitors can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing, with the best chances of seeing the wild horses in the early morning or evening as they come to drink near the river.
Genghis Khan Statue Complex
Only 54 km from the capital, this impressive stainless-steel monument of Chinggis Khaan on horseback rises 40 meters high and is recognized as the largest equestrian statue in the world. Inside the complex, guests can explore historical exhibits, a museum, and traditional cultural displays. An elevator and staircase lead to a viewing platform on the horse’s head, offering wide panoramic views of the surrounding steppe.
Gorkhi–Terelj National Park
One of Mongolia’s most visited national parks, Terelj lies just 70 km from Ulaanbaatar and is known for its dramatic granite formations, forested mountains, and open flower-filled meadows. The area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, photography, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Its fresh air, alpine scenery, and natural landscapes make it a favorite escape for both locals and travelers.
Turtle Rock (Melkhii Khad)
Turtle Rock is a well-known natural rock formation shaped like a giant turtle, located in the heart of Terelj National Park. It is easily accessible and a popular place for photos, short walks, and enjoying the surrounding scenery. Nearby, visitors can also choose to ride horses or camels through the beautiful valley.
Ariyabal Meditation Temple
Set in the mountains above Terelj, Ariyabal is a peaceful Buddhist meditation temple reached by crossing a suspension bridge and climbing a symbolic set of 108 steps. The temple sits on a hilltop with sweeping views over the national park, offering a quiet retreat for reflection, prayer, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
