Tour Itineraries

Day 01. Ulaanbaatar - Blue Lake of Khar Zurkh

Kick off your adventure with a morning departure from Ulaanbaatar. Drive east into the wild and arrive at Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Lake—the sacred site where Temuujin earned the title Genghis Khan, igniting the rise of the Mongol Empire.

Hike to scenic viewpoints, touch history at the royal lineage monuments, and breathe in the crisp steppe air.

As night falls, enjoy a warm meal and nomadic-style relaxation at your ger camp.

Accommodation: Tourist Ger Camp Meals: Lunch, Dinner Drive: ~220 km / 4.5 hours

Day 02. Blue Lake - Gun Galuut Nature Reserve

After breakfast, we continue toward Gun Galuut Nature Reserve, one of Mongolia’s most beautiful areas with wetlands, rolling hills, and wildlife such as Argali wild sheep.

On the way, we will have a warm visit to a nomadic family — learning how they raise livestock and preserve traditions unchanged for generations.

At Steppe Nomads Camp, enjoy lunch and then spend your afternoon with optional adventures:

  • Horseback riding

  • Kayaking or rafting on the Kherlen River

  • Hiking or cycling

  • Optional wildlife trip to spot Argali sheep

Dinner will be served as the sun sets over the river valley.

Day 03. Genghis Khan Statue - Terelj National Park - Ulaanbaatar

Today we return toward the capital — but several amazing stops await:

• Visit the Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue — the world’s tallest horse statue
• Take the elevator up for a stunning panoramic view

Then we continue to Terelj National Park, famous for its alpine forests and unique rock formations. Highlights include:

  • Turtle Rock — iconic natural formation

  • Ariyabal Meditation Temple — peaceful spiritual site with inspiring views

After lunch, we drive back to Ulaanbaatar and drop you at your hotel.
