Tour Itineraries

Day 01. Fly to Gobi Desert & Explore Bayanzah Flamming Cliffs

Morning

  • We pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the airport

  • 1.5-hour domestic flight to Dalanzadgad (Gobi capital city)

  • Meet your local driver and begin your journey into the desert

Mid-day / Afternoon

  • Drive to Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs) — famous dinosaur fossil site

    • Here, the first dinosaur eggs were discovered in 1922

    • Short walk around the red cliffs (easy trail)

    • Chance to spot small fossil fragments on the ground

  • Learn about the history of Roy Chapman Andrews’ expedition (short intro video or guide story)

Evening

  • Settle into your comfortable ger camp

  • Sunset walk — cliffs turn fiery red like burning flames

  • Dinner and star-watching (incredibly clear night skies)

Why it’s special: This is the exact place dinosaurs once roamed and where major scientific discoveries were made.

Day 02. Khongor Sand Dunes: Camel Ride & Dune Sunset

Travel west to the breathtaking Khongor Sand Dunes — stretching 180 km long and rising up to 300 meters high.

Relax at camp, then in the cooler evening:

  • Visit a camel-herding family & try fermented camel milk

  • Ride a two-humped Bactrian camel across the golden sands

  • Climb the Singing Dune for a sunset panorama you’ll never forget

When the wind moves the sand, the dunes hum like a giant musical instrument — giving them their nickname.

Overnight surrounded by pure silence and endless stars.

Accomm: Tourist Camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Driving distance: ~150 km/ 4 hrs

Day 03. Yol Valley: Ice Canyon in the Gobi Desert

After breakfast, drive into the mountain range known as the Three Beauties of the Gobi.

Explore Yol Valley, a dramatic gorge with ice formations lasting most of the year — unbelievable in the heart of a desert. Hike through narrow cliffs, flowing streams, and wildflower meadows. You may spot ibex or wild sheep high on the rocks.

Later, travel to Dalanzadgad town and check in to a comfortable local hotel.

Accomm: Hotel & Toursit Camp Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Drive: ~220 km/5.5 hrs

Day 04. Fly Back to Ulaanbaatar

  • Breakfast and quick transfer to the airport

  • 1.5-hour flight back to Ulaanbaatar

  • Drop-off at your hotel
